100x100 is a fun (for me) side-project, that I sometimes do when I remember and have a moment. I try and condense my thoughts on a topic into exactly one-hundred words, offering description, analysis, approach and a couple of practical tips.
For me, the point is clarity and coherence of thought. Each one takes about ten drafts before I’m happy. The first draft feels good, but on reading back, I realise it contains both logical missteps and repeated points. By the time I’ve been through it about ten times, on ten different occasions, only then do I have a hundred words that represent, at that moment, what I think concisely.
Perhaps they form a mosaic of small pieces, from which a bigger picture emerges. They all reflect my core beliefs of intention-led analysis of singing, pedagogy as a mind-altering substance, and singing as an epic act of persuasion that uses magnified chiaroscuro sentences to alter other minds. And yes, this is all assisted and released through detailed, specific, “technical” kinaesthetic physical awareness.
